bcc'ed: apops@lists.apnic.net, rtma@arin.net, routing-wg@ripe.net, afnog@afnog.org You may have noticed a couple of changes (enhancements) in the report just posted. These are: + up to now, the calculation of number of advertised prefixes smaller than registry allocations has used the blanket value of a /20 as the RIRs' minimum allocation size across all blocks. We all know this is only correct for recently made allocations and the previous allocations used /19 and other minimum sizes. I've fixed this to use the actual sizes the registries have documented on their web pages. + The analysis now additionally displays all 192.x.x.x prefixes which are announced to the Internet but are whose assignments are not registered in any of the three RIR databases. Hopefully this will give providers announcing these prefixes some encouragement to reconcile these differences with the RIRs. As with the pre-registry system A and B space allocations, most of these are simply documentation oversights, so fixing documentation will mean that the net disappears from my list. :-) The list of Advertised Unregistered Addresses is now my best effort at figuring out what address space is still held by IANA (listed in the 3 registeries databases as being IANA-RESERVED or simply unassigned). I don't make any attempt to work out what address space within the registry blocks is still held by the registeries (and besides, that is a daily moving target).
