Dear colleagues, Are you an experienced network operator willing to share your expertise with your peers in South East Europe? The South East Europe (SEE) Programme Committee (PC) is now seeking content proposals from the community for plenary presentations, panels sessions, tutorials and lightning talks at SEE 8, the eight South East Europe/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting: https://www.ripe.net/see-8/call-for-presentations Please submit your talk in English, including the abstract and draft version of the slides, before 17 February 2019. Hi everybody, I'd like to let you know that RIPE NCC is organising two events in Sarajevo next week. Member Lunch on 6 November -------------------------- Member lunches aim to get input from our members on how the RIPE NCC can better work to serve their interests. It's also a great opportunity for you to meet your peers in the Internet industry and to discuss issues that affect you all. Members can register for free at: https://www.ripe.net/s/memberlunchsarajevo When: 12:30 - 14:30 Where: The 4 Rooms of Mrs. Safija; Čekaluša 61 University Day on 7 November ---------------------------- You are welcome to join us at the University of Sarajevo without a registration (although please send me an email, so that I keep you in mind). 9:30-12:30 - Introduction to the Internet ecosystem The session will start by asking a simple question of “Who runs the Internet?” and take the attendees through the so called I-star organisations: IETF, RIR, ICANN and others. Then we will talk about DNS infrastructures and Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and finish by raising some questions about ethics and technoogy. 14:00-17:00 - IPv6 address planning & security This session provides an overview of the most relevant IPv6 address planning & security topics. Attendees will gain insight into industry best practice and a high-level understanding of the most pressing IPv6 security concerns today. Second Albanian Network Operators Meeting - ALNOG2 - Tirana November 14th 2018

Dear SEE Community, I have the pleasure to announce that the second meeting of the Albanian Network Operators, ALNOG2, the first event organized by the Albanian Network Operators Group (www.alnog.al), will take place in Tirana on 14 November 2018, exactly one year after the first Albanian Network Operators Forum (ALNOF). Once again, Albanian Internet operators (technical managers and network engineers) will meet and discuss about Internet infrastructure and interconnection in the region. The event is free of charge; further details on the agenda and the venue will be shared before the event and uploaded on the ALNOG2 webpage (https://www.alnog.al/alnog2). Dear all, Please see below the calls for the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund (deadline is in two days!) and the RIPE Academic Cooperation Initiative (deadline is on 12 August). Please spread among your networks! -------------------------------- RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund -------------------------------- The RIPE NCC provides EUR 250,000 a year to support projects of value to the operation and resilience of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. Is your project of benefit to the Internet, particularly the RIPE community? Is your project non-commercial in nature? Do you have a clear project plan and timeline?
