We are already preparing for the upcoming RIPE meeting in Prague and are glad to inform you that the RACI call for application is now open. As always, successful applicants will receive complimentary tickets, travel and accommodation to the meeting and the opportunity to present their research. Successful SEE 12 in Athens

Dear all, I want to share with this list that in April we held a very successful SEE 12 meeting in Athens. We welcomed 195 attendees from 27 countries. Presentations and panels covered developments in the telecom market in SEE, IPv6 adoption, routing security and more. Upcoming RIPE NCC Training Courses in Zagreb, 15-17 May

CARNET is hosting three one-day training courses: - LIR Training Course: Wednesday, 15 May, 09:00-17:30 - RIPE Database Training Course: Thursday, 16 May, 09:00-17:30 - BGP Routing Security Training Course: Friday, 17 May, 09:00-17:30 You can register to attend each of these individually or sign up for multiple courses. The course includes lunch and printed training materials. courses are free of charge for RIPE NCC members and are delivered in English. RIPE 88 Student Event: What Keeps the Internet Working?

Dear colleagues, On Tuesday May 7, NCC will organise a free online event aimed at people currently studying in the fields of networking, computer science, internet governance and other fields relevant to the RIPE community. The goal is to introduce them to the RIPE Community, encourage them to participate at the RIPE Meeting (in-person or online) and provide them with tips on how to make the most out of it. The planned duration of the event is 1h and 30 min. Speakers: - Valerie Aurora, systems programming consultant - Ben Cartwright-Cox, CEO at bgp.tools - Qasim Lone, Specialist Research Engineer at RIPE NCC - Mirjam Kühne, RIPE Chair - Jelena Ćosić, Community Builder at RIPE NCC NCC has also set aside a limited number of free student tickets (for all 5 days of the conference). We especially encourage students from Polish universities to apply, but the offer is extended to all. https://www.internetsociety.org/funding-areas/sustainable-peering-ixp/ The Internet Society has a rich history in building Internet infrastructure like IXPs, working with local and regional communities toward a thriving Internet ecosystem that keeps Internet traffic local, reduces costs, sparks development, and improves the quality of Internet services. We are excited to announce that the Sustainable Peering Infrastructure Funding Program is now open for applications. Funding will specifically support: Existing IXPs that need additional funding to grow or become sustainable Organizations that hope to build a new IXP Entities that work with local communities to improve peering and infrastructure Entities that provide a positive contribution to the entire IXP ecosystem Grant funds from USD $5,000 up to $50,000 are open to all regions and are available to assist in equipment purchases (switches, optic modules, servers, and routers), training, capacity building, and community development. Applications are accepted in two windows: 16 January-22 March 2024, and again from 1 July-6 September 2024.
