Dear all, We invite you to join the RIPE NCC Open House: RIR Governance Document Update online session on Tuesday, 22 September at 15:00 (UTC+2). The session will take place online and more information, including the registration link is available on the webpage: https://www.ripe.net/meetings/open-house/rir-governance-document-update/ During this session, Hervé Clément, Andrei Robachevsky and Constanze Bürger, the RIPE representatives on the Number Resource Organisation Number Council (NRO NC), will present the latest draft of the RIR Governance Document: https://www.nro.net/policy/internet-coordination-policy-2/rir-governance-do… This session will provide an overview of the rationale for the latest draft and explain the key changes from Version 2, including updates to the Recognition and Derecognition processes, audit and compliance review provisions, emergency continuity arrangements, decision-making thresholds, ICANN’s role, and new safeguards for transparency and accountability. We encourage everyone who has been following the process to update ICP-2 to join us for this online session. --------------------- Background Information --------------------- The NRO NC began the process to update and strengthen ICP-2, the Criteria for Establishment of New Regional Internet Registries in 2024. Since then, it has published two draft versions and held multiple consultations with RIR communities globally and ICANN stakeholders. The publication of this third draft, the "ASO AC Recommended Draft RIR Governance Document", marks an important milestone in this process. Welcoming new Cooperation Working Group Co-Chair

Dear cooperation WG members, Following Julf’s email bellow, please welcome Peter Koch as the new Cooperation Working Group Co-Chair. Upon Peter’s and Bastiaan’s agreement, Bastiaan Gosling’s term will start at the end of RIPE93, so we will hold off on congratulating him until then. We already have quite a few talks submitted for the RIPE93 WG session, but we always look forward to members' suggestions on topics of interest, and hereby invite you to submit your talk. Best regards, Achilleas, Peter and Desiree — RIPE Coop WG Co-Chairs — cut here -- ...two new co-chairs, one starting ASAP and one starting November 1 as Achilleas will be stepping down after RIPE93, so we have decided to select both Bastiaan and Peter, and allow them to decide amongst themselves who starts when. On behalf of the co-chair team I thank Bastiaan and Peter for volunteering, and want to remind everyone that being a WG co-chair is a purely voluntary job, with co-chairs normally covering their participation expenses themselves (just like presenters at WG sessions), so a big Thank You to both! As, when I stepped down at RIPE92, I agreed to stay on in an assisting function for the selection process, I now conclude that my job is done and I can fully step down as co-chair.
