Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2021 is now available. This definitive document has been approved by the RIPE NCC Executive Board with input from our membership. It outlines the work we will undertake in the coming year and the associated costs for each activity. The document is available at: https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-750/ Key points in this year's Activity Plan and Budget: - Our expenses will decrease by 3% - We will grow our FTE count from 165 to 170 (3%) - We now expect to end 2021 with 23,000 LIR accounts (down from 25,000 in the draft Activity Plan and Budget) - The membership fee remains at EUR 1,400 per LIR account - The cost per LIR is EUR 1,459 – down slightly from EUR 1,498 in the 2020 budget A section at the end of the document notes changes since the draft was published in September, which are relatively small. [news] End of Year LIR Account Closures

Dear members, We received requests for clarifications on our closure procedure for 2020 and invoicing for 2021. Any valid request made before the end of 2020 to close an LIR account will mean that the account in question will not be charged in 2021. Policy transfers and changes in business structure that lead to the closure of an LIR account will also not be charged in 2021 provided the request is made to us with all necessary information before the end of the year and the intention to close the account is confirmed to us in our follow-up communication to the request. With policy transfers, the resources must be transferable at the time of the request. Automated invoices will be corrected for valid requests processed after 31 December 2020. But we kindly ask you to complete closure requests, policy transfers and notifications of changes in business structure in time so we avoid sending the automated invoice in Q1 2021. [GM] Voting Issue at RIPE NCC General Meeting October 2020

Dear members, It was brought to our attention last week that a member received an extra vote for the recent October RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). Following this, we conducted a full audit of all members who received voting rights at the GM. We found that three LIR accounts should have been recorded as belonging to three already existing members, but they were not. Instead they were recorded as separate members with voting rights. As a result we allocated three extra votes to these three LIR accounts. The three extra votes could not have had an impact on the results of the voting on resolutions. In the closest vote, a three-vote swing would mean approval by 75% rather than 75.25%. See full voting numbers at the end of this mail. However, we take this very seriously and we will amend our processes ahead of the next GM to ensure all members are assigned the correct voting rights. We are also analysing previous GM votes to assess whether this issue had an impact on previous voting results. Dear RIPE NCC members, We would like to inform you that a request to close an LIR account or any request that will result in the closure of an LIR account should be submitted in full before 1 December 2020. This includes closures that result from policy transfers and changes in business structures. Any requests submitted after this date mean that you could be invoiced for 2021. The request should contain all the requested information and documents in order for the RIPE NCC to process it before the end of the year. An overview of the required documents can be found at: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/resource-transfers-and-mergers/req… For requests resulting in the closure of an LIR account that are submitted later than 1 December 2020, or requests that are incomplete, we can not guarantee that the LIR account will be closed before 31 December 2020. Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 139th Meeting via teleconference on 30 October 2020. The draft minutes of the meeting are now available: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/minutes/2020/minutes-139th-ex… The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. Further details are available in the minutes. - The RIPE NCC Executive Board decided to re-appoint Hervé Clément for another term on the Number Resource Organization Numbers Council (NRO NC), representing the RIPE NCC service region. Hervé's term will begin on 1 January 2021 and ends on 31 December 2023. - The Executive Board discussed moderation of the Membership Discussion mailing list. The Board agreed that general moderation should be removed to allow good discussion among members and instead individual members who do not act in accordance with the purpose of the mailing list and the principles of the RIPE Code of Conduct should be moderated.
