Dear members, We would like to express our solidarity with the network operators who are currently working hard to maintain Internet access despite the effects of escalating violence in the Middle East. We recognise that many of our members and colleagues are directly affected by the situation, and our thoughts are with those experiencing uncertainty, loss and disruption as events continue to unfold. We remain committed to keeping our members operational and continue to provide undisrupted registry services to all those affected. For members who may be experiencing difficulties as a result of the conflict, we would like to remind you that the RIPE NCC payment extension form is available to you. Dear RIPE NCC members, Nominations are now open for candidates to stand in the upcoming RIPE NCC Executive Board election. There will be an election for three seats at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) on 20 May 2026. Each seat is for a three-year term. The election will fill the seats currently held by Raymond Jetten, Maria Häll and Harald A. Summa, whose terms expire in May 2026. Dear members, On behalf of our Executive Board, I invite volunteers to join the Arbiters Panel in accordance with the requirements of the RIPE NCC Conflict Arbitration Procedure and the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. This follows the expiration of the term of Keith Mitchell in 2026. The Board extends its appreciation to Keith for the work they have carried out on the panel. The Executive Board will nominate arbiters, depending on the number of volunteers. These nominees will be presented to the RIPE NCC General Meeting on 20 May 2026 for approval by the General Meeting. Dear RIPE NCC members, Thank you for your feedback on Phase 1 of the charging scheme model. During the six week consultation period, members shared feedback via the members-discuss mailing list and we also heard from members directly. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped inform the next stage of this work. We are now analysing the feedback to identify where the models can be refined. *Phase 2: Separate Charges* We are now launching Phase 2 of the consultation, which focuses on separate charges. In parallel, we are carrying out impact analyses to determine what changes would need to be made to our systems in order to accommodate new types of charges, and whether they would be possible to implement for 2027 or need to be phased in over multiple years. We plan to publish the impact analysis when proposing the draft charging scheme for members to vote on in April. Phase 2 will run until the week of 16 February 2026. Your input is essential for shaping the Charging Scheme proposal which will be presented to the membership for a vote at the May 2026 General Meeting. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. This document was approved by the Executive Board at its meeting on 11 December 2025, with input from our membership. It outlines the work we will undertake in the coming year and the associated costs for each activity. The document is available at: https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-850/ Key points in the 2026 Activity Plan and Budget: - Registry: 1% budget increase, we will use more efficient processes and increased automation to handle the heavy workload without greater expenditure - Information Services: 6% budget increase, this includes added staff (+0.7 FTE), LIR Portal modernisation, implementation of security measures and work on IT infrastructure to mitigate threats - External Engagement and Community: budget-neutral, decrease of operational budget allowing for more FTEs without extra costs - Organisational Sustainability: 5% budget increase, this includes office-related costs, work to make RIPE NCC Middle East FZ-LLC operational and staff costs related to a new Project Management Office A section at the end of the document notes changes since the draft was published in October. * Dear RIPE NCC members, We have opened Phase 1 of the Charging Scheme Consultation and invite your feedback on two proposed models for the annual fee, which represents the significant majority of the RIPE NCC’s income. *What we are consulting on in Phase 1* The RIPE NCC’s income from members consists of two parts - together they make up the Membership Fee: 1. Annual Fee - the main part of our income 2. Additional Fees - currently these are ASN fees, independent assignment fees and other one-off charges In Phase 1, our focus is only on the annual fee, because this is the foundation of the Charging Scheme and the key element for our long-term financial stability. We are asking for your input on two possible annual fee models: - Model A – Category-based model - Model B – Formula-based model For each model, we have published an explanation and an interactive calculator so you can see how your annual fee would be calculated and explore different scenarios based on your IPv4 and IPv6 holdings. [news] Recent changes to the LIR Account Agreement

Dear all, At its 188th RIPE NCC meeting on 4-5 September 2025, the RIPE NCC Executive Board approved amendments to the LIR Account Agreement. These changes are made in response to the EU regulation Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) which came into effect in January 2025. While the requirements apply to financial institutions, the RIPE NCC aims to facilitate the implementation of this regulation for those entities that are RIPE NCC members to a reasonable extent. The changes include: - Adding a definition of the LIR Portal and clarified what an LIR contact is (article 1) - Aligning the wording with the relevant clause in the Standard Service Agreement (article 2.2) - Clarifying that Members shall be liable for the actions of their LIR contacts (article 3) - Adding an article which details how we manage planned maintenance, how incidents can be reported. There was a full agenda spread over two days. Resolution EB#188-R-05 The RIPE NCC Executive Board approves the publication of the draft agenda for the RIPE NCC General Meeting in October 2025.
