Hello, For the third year in a row, the RIPE NCC is committing to support activities and projects ‘for the Good of the Internet’. We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for funding from the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund. Through the Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC will provide up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation and resilience of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. The Internet today owes its success to a lot of non-commercial, community-driven work, and this continues to ensure the Internet remains resilient, secure and accessible. If you or your organisation is working on a new or existing project that fits the criteria below, and need some financial support to get it off the ground or keep it going, we want to hear from you! Is your project of benefit to the Internet, particularly the RIPE community? Is your project non-commercial in nature? Do you have a clear project plan and timeline? A couple of things to keep in mind: - Funding may be used to purchase equipment, but this cannot be the sole expenditure - Funding cannot be used for humanitarian aid, donations, or to encourage political reform - Funding cannot be used to provide scholarships or cover tuition fees - Funding cannot be used to support any form of commercial activity - Applications will be accepted until 1 September 2019 See the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund website for more details! Dear colleagues, On 5 June 2019, the RIPE NCC received the following IPv6 allocation from IANA: 2a10:0000::/12 All allocations of IPv6 unicast address space made by IANA to RIRs are listed here: https://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv6-unicast-address-assignments/ipv6-unic… We received our previous /12 allocation (2a00:0000::/12) on 3 October 2006. The conditions under which we qualified for an additional allocation are described in the IANA Policy For Allocation of IPv6 Blocks to RIRs: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/allocation-ipv6-rirs-2012-02-25-en The RIPE NCC is the first RIR to receive an additional /12 IPv6 block. [GM] RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2019

Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) was held from 22-24 May 2019. An election took place to fill two seats on the RIPE NCC Executive Board. There were seven candidates and the seats were filled by Ondřej Filip and Remco van Mook. There were five resolutions to be voted on at the General Meeting. The results of the voting on the resolutions are as follows: Resolution 1: "The General Meeting adopts the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2018." The resolution was approved. Resolution 2: "The General Meeting discharges the Executive Board with regard to its actions as they appear from the Annual Report 2018 and Financial Report 2018." The resolution was approved. Resolution 3: "The General Meeting approves the adoption of the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2020 option that received the absolute majority of the votes cast." The General Meeting approved the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2020 Option A. Resolution 4: "The General Meeting approves the amendments to the RIPE NCC Articles of Association." The resolution was approved. Resolution 5: "The General Meeting approves the amendments to the RIPE NCC Standard Service Agreement.” The resolution was approved. I welcome Ondřej Filip and Remco van Mook to the Executive Board. I would also like to thank Nigel Titley, who has stepped down after 19 years of dedicated service to the RIPE NCC on the Executive Board. REMOTE PARTICIPATION AND ELECTRONIC VOTING Electronic voting registration will remain open until 16:00 UTC if you wish to vote electronically. Members who register for the GM will receive links to participate and vote remotely on 22 May. The Executive Board has been following discussions on the Members Discuss mailing list (members-discuss(a)ripe.net) and encourages members to continue discussion there. There will be a presentation and further discussion on the Charging Scheme options at the GM on 22 May before members are asked to vote on their preferred option. The proposed amendments to the Articles of Association would change the procedure currently in place to challenge the verdict at a GM. The proposed amendment to the SSA would allow those submitting the document to do so by uploading a scanned copy to the RIPE NCC. A resource has to be seen by at least 10 RIS peers to be considered globally visible, as opposed to just three peers before. This has an impact on all routing-related information: https://stat.ripe.net/2001:67c:2e8::/48#tabId=routing The Announced Prefixes widget has been updated to only load recent announcements (for performance reasons) by default and provide a button that progressively loads the historical information. In addition, the widget now only loads the “first seen” information when displaying historical data: https://stat.ripe.net/widget/announced-prefixes#w.resource=AS3333 -- We’ve Updated RIPE Atlas Terms and Conditions The RIPE Atlas Service Terms and Conditions have now been amended to reflect the fact that RIPE Atlas anchors are now available as both physical hardware and as virtual machines.
