Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) was held from 17-19 October 2018 adjacent to the RIPE 77 Meeting in Amsterdam. There were 138 attendees, including RIPE NCC staff and observers from the other Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). The webcast from the meeting is archived at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2018/webstream There were four resolutions to be voted on at the General Meeting. The results of the voting on the resolutions are as follows: Resolution 1 - The General Meeting approves the redistribution of the excess contribution paid in 2018 by redistributing the RIPE NCC 2018 surplus to the membership in 2019. Yes – 996 No - 9 Abstain - 12 The resolution was approved. Resolution 2 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 12 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 852 No - 50 Abstain - 95 The resolution was approved. Resolution 3 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 13 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 882 No - 39 Abstain - 73 Resolution 4 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 18 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 860 No - 50 Abstain - 82 The resolution was approved. There will be updates from the RIPE NCC and its Executive Board as well as discussion of the Draft Activity Plan and Budget 2019 and voting on four resolutions. Electronic voting registration will remain open until 16:00 UTC+2 today if you wish to vote electronically. The Address Policy Working Group will check whether the IPv6 Policy needs an update regarding the definition of assignments. The Routing Working Group will discuss whether IRR objects should be deleted if they conflict with RPKI ROAs. And the RIPE NCC Services Working Group will discuss whether the RIPE NCC should publish the legal address of resource holders, which would help to identify them. Full remote participation in all these sessions is possible from the RIPE 77 website. And don't forget to bring your opinion to the relevant working group mailing list, as only these opinions can be formally considered for the Policy Development Process (PDP). RIPE NCC GENERAL MEETING (GM) Nearly 1,000 members have registered for the GM, which takes place this Wednesday, 17 October. Full remote participation and voting options are available. The information is available via the LIR Portal. You can copy the list to your clipboard or download it as a CSV file. RIPE NCC PAYMENT OPTIONS Currently, payment of invoices can be done by bank transfer or by online payment. Different online payment options are available depending on the country. Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) takes place one week from today on Wednesday, 17 October. All members are asked to participate by registering their voting and attendance options via my.ripe.net: https://www.ripe.net/s/gm-registration-oct-2018 The registration process takes less than a minute to complete, and we ask that you exercise your participation and voting rights in this important meeting for the RIPE NCC and the membership. You can register to participate and vote remotely until 16:00 UTC+2 on 17 October. Agenda and Resolutions ----------------------- The agenda for the GM is available at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2018/agenda There will be a discussion of the Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2019. This document lays out our plans for 2019 and the cost of those plans, so your input can help shape the direction of the RIPE NCC in the coming year. The first asks members to decide on what will happen to the RIPE NCC's 2018 budget surplus - it will be either returned to the RIPE NCC reserves or redistributed to the members as a rebate in 2019. The other three resolutions ask members to adopt the amended RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 118th Meeting on 7 September 2018 and its 119th meeting on 14 September 2018. The following is a summary of the main items from the meetings. Further details are available in the minutes. --------------- 118th Meeting --------------- - The Board asked the RIPE NCC to establish a formal conflict of interest procedure - The Board approved amendments to the procedural document "Transfer of Internet Number Resources and Change of a Member's Official Legal Name" -------------- 119th Meeting -------------- - The Board approved the publication of the Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2019 - The Board approved the proposed changes to the RIPE NCC Articles of Association to be voted on at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting - The Board approved the Draft Agenda for the RIPE NCC General Meeting - The Board decided to make changes to the EB roles (Chairman and Secretary) ---------------------------------------------- Changes to the RIPE NCC Executive Board Roles ---------------------------------------------- In light of the addition of two new Board members at the last General Meeting in Marseille, it was felt that some rotation of the Board functions would be beneficial. Nigel Titley has diligently and effectively carried out the role of Chairman of the Executive Board since 2008. He and the other Board members feel that now is the right time to have another Executive Board Chairman and they agreed that Christian Kaufmann would take on the role of Chairman as of 14 September. To maintain a good degree of continuity and stability with the Board roles, Remco van Mook will remain as Executive Board Treasurer and Christian's former role as Executive Board Secretary will now be filled by Nigel. We look forward to the continued support and guidance of the Executive Board in its new setup and welcome Christian to the role of Chairman. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Nigel for the dedicated service he has provided to the RIPE NCC and its membership in his decade of chairing the Executive Board. Dear RIPE NCC members, The Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2019 is now available for your review: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2018/draft-ri… The Draft Activity Plan and Budget is the clearest way that RIPE NCC members can learn about, comment on and ultimately shape the direction that the RIPE NCC will take in the coming year. The document contains an executive summary that provides an overview of the main activity and budgetary changes for the coming year. By publishing the draft document now, the RIPE NCC membership has four weeks until the General Meeting (GM) on Wednesday, 17 October 2018 to review and discuss the contents of the document. Further discussion will take place at the GM. We ask that you read the document and provide feedback on the Members Discuss mailing list <members-discuss at ripe.net>. The Executive Board will take note of all feedback and discussions regarding the Activity Plan and Budget before publishing a final version in December 2018.
