Thanks Etienne. Sustainability needs indeed hw/physical level transparency. As for the list, this 'Revisit Edge' is now published on IEEE Internet Computing: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9470987 Aaron ________________________________ From: Etienne-Victor Depasquale <edepa@ieee.org> Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2021 12:45 To: Aaron Ding Cc: raci-list@ripe.net Subject: Re: [RACI-list] Revisit arguments for Edge As regards sustainability, I think that researchers need well conceived and articulated architectures of ***physical*** deployments of telecommunications networks. The analyzed substrate must be declared with as much transparency as possible. A primary limiting factor is the degree of willingness by operators to disclose implementational details. Abstractions that conceal physical elements lack conviction.
