Dear all, especially software probe hosts, Many of you contribute to RIPE Atlas by running one or more software probes. Thank you for doing so! In the case of software probes you, the host, are in control of the installation and upgrade process. We noticed that there are many probes that have been installed, but not upgraded over time. We'd like to inform you that early next week we'll activate a feature in the system where we'll periodically remind software probe hosts with non-newest versions to upgrade their probes. We expect that at some point later we'll also start enforcing the use of newer versions. Please note that since we provide multiple binary releases, it's also possible to set up automatic package updates for the popular platforms (Debian, RHEL, Raspberry). We'd recommend using this feature (in general, not necessarily just for the probe package). I was hoping to see some hints specifically for Turris Omnia. Perhaps it's not a popular enough platform to be supported? /Niall

I was hoping to see some hints specifically for Turris Omnia. Perhaps it's not a popular enough platform to be supported?

Unfortunately we don't have explicit indications if which ones are on Turris (most other platforms give an indication). It's certainly not a large portion of probes at the moment. In any case, I opened a channel to the Turris people to facilitate this upgrade on their platform. Cheers, Robert

Sure. But the status page for that probe https://atlas.ripe.net/probes/1017517/overview shows FIRMWARE VERSION 5080 (capitals from copy-paste; not my shouting). The page which Robert referenced, which shows instructions for upgrading, indicates that this version should be upgraded, but doesn't give instructions for the Turris platform. Reforis indicates that no update is available. /Niall
