Call for Volunteers for RIPE NCC Panel of Arbiters

[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board is seeking volunteers to the panel of arbiters in accordance with the requirements of the RIPE NCC Conflict Arbitration Procedure and the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Remco van Mook stepped down from the panel of arbiters due to his election to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The panel of arbiters has expressed the wish to increase its number to ensure the minimum requirement is met that the panel of arbiters consist at all times of at least six people and to spread the work across a broader base of arbiters. The following six people currently make up the panel of arbiters: - Jaap Akkerhuis, RIPE DNS Working Group Co-chair - Kurt Kayser, Self-employed - David Kessens, RIPE IPv6 Working Group Chair - Olof Kolkman, Internet Architecture Board Chairman - Keith Mitchell, former RIPE NCC Executive Board Chairman - Wilfried Woeber, RIPE Database Working Group Chair The Executive Board asks for your assistance in providing suitable new members of the panel of arbiters. The Executive Board will then appoint several arbiters, depending on the number of volunteers. These appointments will be presented to the RIPE NCC General Meeting on 17 November 2010 for approval by the membership. [Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, This is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The term of Hans Petter Holen, who was elected to the NRO NC in January 2008, ends on 31 December 2010. The election to the NRO NC seat will take place during a Plenary session at the RIPE 61 Meeting to be held in Rome, Italy from 15-19 November 2010. All members of the Internet community who are present at the Plenary session may vote in the election. The deadline for nominations is 15 October 2010. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. Please send your nominations to <nominations(a)ripe.net> by 23:00 UTC on 15 October 2010. All confirmed nominations will be listed on the RIPE NCC website by 17 October 2010. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Last call to participate: 2010 Global IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, This is a last-call reminder to participate in the 2010 Global IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey, conducted by GNKS Consult and TNO in collaboration with the RIPE NCC. The survey is available at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/IPv6deploymentmonitoring2010 The deadline to complete the survey is this Thursday, 1 July 2010. All five Regional Internet Registries have committed to soliciting participation in this survey in order to compile the most complete global IPv6 deployment data possible. The goal of the survey is to gain a better understanding of where the community is moving, and what can be done to ensure the Internet community is ready for the widespread adoption of IPv6. We encourage all organisations in the RIPE NCC service region to participate in this survey, which we hope will establish a comprehensive view of present IPv6 penetration and future plans for IPv6 deployment. The survey is composed of 23 questions and can be completed in about 15 minutes. For those without IPv6 allocations or assignments, or who have not yet deployed IPv6, the questions will be fewer in number. Results of the IPv6 Deployment Monitoring Survey will be presented and discussed at RIPE 61, which will be held 15-19 November in Rome, Italy. Results will also be published on IPv6 Act Now: http://ipv6actnow.org Please provide your name and contact information on the survey form if you wish to receive the draft survey analysis when available.
