Dear colleagues, We would like to share some information ahead of the upcoming NRO NC election taking place during RIPE 89. The election will fill one seat for a three-year term starting in January 2025 and ending in December 2027. --------------- Nominees --------------- There are two nominees on the ballot: - Jordi Palet Martinez - Andrei Robachevsky You can view more information about the nominees at: https://www.ripe.net/community/nro-nc/nro-nc-nominations-november-2024/nomi… You can submit expressions of support for the nominees to nominations(a)ripe.net. These expressions of support will be published on the website. Details are available at: https://www.ripe.net/community/nro-nc/nro-nc-nominations-november-2024/expr… --------------- Voting --------------- The following criteria are applicable in order to vote in the NRO NC election: - You must have registered for RIPE 89 and to vote in the NRO NC election - You must check-in ahead of the voting registration deadline - You must have attended at least one of the previous eight RIPE Meetings You can read more about the NRO NC election process in ripe-813: https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-813/ Please note that you must also check in (even if you are participating online) in order to receive an electronic ballot. Our system will automatically exclude all those who have not checked in for RIPE 89. We will inform those registered who are ineligible to vote. The NRO Invites the Internet Community to Participate in the ICP-2 Questionnaire

This message is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization ------------------ The full announcement is available at: https://www.nro.net/the-nro-invites-internet-community-to-participate-in-ic… ------------------ The Number Resource Organization (NRO), the coordinating body for the global Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), is calling on individuals in the global Internet community to participate in a questionnaire focused on a proposed principles document that will be used to update the Internet Coordination Policy-2 (ICP-2). ICP-2, first created in 2001, identifies the criteria for an organization seeking to become a new RIR. In October 2023, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) was asked by the NRO Executive Council to update the ICP-2. This proposed principles document is the first major step in the ASO AC’s work of revising ICP-2. It sets forth the core principles that the ASO AC believes should be reflected in the next version of ICP-2. In addition to principles on RIR governance, ecosystem, lifecycle, recognition and operation, the document also provides principles for the potential ‘derecognition’ of an RIR if it fails to adhere to the criteria established. The ASO AC will take into account the comments received to draft a revised version of the ICP-2 document to present to stakeholders for further feedback. The questionnaire is located at: https://ripe-ncc.typeform.com/icp-2 The questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Responses can be submitted in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, the official working languages of the RIRs. Respondents will see the option to choose one of these languages if their browser is not set to English. This questionnaire will remain open for input from Tuesday, 8 October until Tuesday, 19 November 2024. Anti-Abuse WG: Re-Chartering Discussion: Consensus Decision & Next Steps

Good Afternoon, This is a copy of a post I sent to AA-WG earlier today. Please send any reactions or comments to anti-abuse-wg(a)ripe.net Following on from the list discussion pre-RIPE 88, the discussion at the meeting, and the subsequent refining of the proposed charter and further discussion, the WG Co-Chairs, after discussion with the RIPE Chair Team, are declaring consensus on the re-chartering and re-naming of the WG. The charter is as posted to the group on the 29th of July by Markus: ************* The Security Working Group is committed to fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and addressing security challenges within the RIPE community. The primary objective of the WG is to enhance the security, resilience, and stability of the Internet infrastructure within our region. Tackling abuse of Internet infrastructure and resources is a core goal of the WG, as well as: - Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and advocate for best practices, guidelines, and standards for securing Internet resources - Facilitating information sharing and cooperation among relevant entities - Providing education, training, and outreach initiatives to raise awareness of security issues and promote best practices adoption ************* and we are confirming that the new name of the WG will be the RIPE Security Working Group. Our first hybrid meeting will be at RIPE 89 in Prague and, between then and now we'll sort out the logistics of the change including mailing lists, websites, fancy logos, branded merchandise etc. etc. There will be further communications on this, of course, but the current plan is to migrate this list, in the whole part, to the new WG, meaning no action would be required on the part of the subscribers. More on that as we have it. I'd like to thank my fellow Co-Chairs, the RIPE Chair Team, the NCC and, of course, the wonderful WG members, for all your help with this discussion, decision & process. I would also like to thank everyone who has been a part of the Anti-Abuse Working Group over the years for your discussion and work. A lot has happened and been done since we rechartered from Anti-Spam to Anti-Abuse in 2008 and it absolutely would not have happened without the community!
