From downstream customers, RPKI unknowns are dropped.
That sounds like all the more reason to use a reliable source (= your own infrastructure that you can control and fix), not a free volunteer service "somewhere in the cloud" which might or might be unavailable at times... We run this on two FreeBSD VMs, one with routinator, one with rpki-client + stayrtr, and the maintenance effort has been very low.
