RIPE 81 BoF on sustainable procurement

Dear all, I'd like to cordially invite you and your colleagues to a BoF session I am organising as part of RIPE81 on *Monday*, *26 October*, from *14:00*-*15:00* *CET* (UTC+1). The session draws on a post <https://labs.ripe.net/Members/michael_oghia/you-ve-got-the-power-sustainabl…> I authored for RIPE Labs over the summer, and aims to highlight how the RIPE community can contribute to a more sustainable Internet via decisions regarding buying hardware and sourcing services (procurement). It intends to gather interest and feedback from the community on the topic, and based on that discussion and the feedback received, potentially form a working group to write a document with more practical guidelines for operators (similar to ripe-554 <https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-554> for IPv6). I'm also happy to announce that Peter Pawlicki, the Director of Outreach and Education at Electronics Watch, will join as well to offer additional insights and expertise. RIPE Programme Committee Elections @ RIPE 81

Dear Friends and Colleagues, The RIPE Programme Committee is responsible for recruiting and selecting presentations for the RIPE Meeting Plenary sessions. As the term of two RIPE PC members end, we are looking for new members in Autumn 2020 who will be elected by the RIPE community at RIPE 81. There are currently two seats up for election to the RIPE PC. Please send nominations, with a biography, statement of interest and photograph, to pc(a)ripe.net. The Charter of the RIPE Programme Committee ( https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-600 ) provides more information about the composition and roles of the RIPE PC. Nominations for the RIPE 81 PC elections can be sent in from now until Tuesday October 27th, 15:30 CET. We will announce the PC elections at the RIPE meeting opening sessions, but interested parties can nominate themselves from today. We will close candidate nominations on Tuesday 27th at 15:30 CET (UTC+1), and publish the biographies on the RIPE Meeting web site. The RIPE PC online voting system will be open from Tuesday October 27th, 16:00 CET until Thursday October 29th, 17:30 CET, for the community members to cast their votes. The total voting numbers may be public. Reminder: NRO NC Call for Nominations

Dear colleagues, This is a reminder that there is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The three-year term of Hervé Clément ends on 31 December 2020. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC beginning 1 January 2021. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 81 Meeting, which will be a virtual meeting taking place from 27-30 October 2020. The deadline for nominations is 21 October 2020. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. This message is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). *** On 15 September 2020, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) issued a call for nominations for Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted until 15 November 2020. The selected candidate will serve for a three-year term, which will begin at the conclusion of the ICANN Annual General Assembly at the ICANN 72 Meeting, scheduled from 23-28 October 2021 in Seattle, USA. Eligibility Requirements ------------------------ All nominated candidates must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements as outlined in Article 7 of the ICANN Bylaws[1]. The nominated candidates will undergo a due diligence review by an independent ICANN contractor. Nomination Process ------------------ Community members are invited to submit nominations by email to nominations [at] aso [dot] icann [dot] org by Sunday, 15 November 2020 at 23:59 UTC.
