This message is sent on behalf of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). *** On 15 September 2020, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) issued a call for nominations for Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted until 15 November 2020. The selected candidate will serve for a three-year term, which will begin at the conclusion of the ICANN Annual General Assembly at the ICANN 72 Meeting, scheduled from 23-28 October 2021 in Seattle, USA. Eligibility Requirements ------------------------ All nominated candidates must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements as outlined in Article 7 of the ICANN Bylaws[1]. The nominated candidates will undergo a due diligence review by an independent ICANN contractor. Nomination Process ------------------ Community members are invited to submit nominations by email to nominations [at] aso [dot] icann [dot] org by Sunday, 15 November 2020 at 23:59 UTC. RIPE WG Chair Collective - Definition and Tasks

As such, inclusion in the group is an ex officio role for WG chairs. The roles of the WG chairs as a collective have been defined in various RIPE Documents and webpages based on community agreement. The aim of this document is to collect these references in a single place to clarify the role and responsibilities of the RIPE WG Chair Collective. There are currently four roles that the collective as a whole is expected to fill. The tasks of individual WG chairs are defined in ripe-692 (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-692). RIPE Meetings ——————— The chairs and co-chairs of each RIPE Working Group form a collective that meets regularly at RIPE Meetings and when necessary to discuss issues relating to the meetings. During these meetings, WG chairs coordinate the interaction between RIPE WGs to progress work items. They also facilitate interactions with RIPE NCC staff to continuously improve RIPE Meetings. RIPE PDP ————— The RIPE Policy Development Process is currently documented in ripe-710 (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-710). The RIPE WG Chair collective’s role is defined in section 4. “Appeals Procedure”. Liaisons ———— The RIPE WG Chair Collective selects liaisons from within its members, who provide input and coordination to facilitate the work of other groups (for instance, the RIPE Programme Committee and RIPE Task Forces). The liaison to the RIPE Program Committee is described in ripe-600 (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-600). Liaisons to RIPE Task Forces can be provided upon request by the relevant task force. RIPE Chair Selection Process —————————————— The current RIPE Chair selection process is described in ripe-727 (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-727). It defines the following roles for the RIPE WG Chair Collective: - Continuity: if the RIPE Chair resigns and the Vice Chair is unavailable, initiate the selection procedure and select an ad-interim RIPE Chair - Consultation: in exceptional circumstances provide consultation to the RIPE Chair selection process.

NRO NC Call for Nominations

Dear colleagues, This is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The three-year term of Hervé Clément ends on 31 December 2020. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC beginning 1 January 2021. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 81 Meeting, which will be a virtual meeting taking place from 27-30 October 2020. The deadline for nominations is 21 October 2020. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. RIPE Code of Conduct - Call for volunteers

Dear colleagues, The Diversity Task Force has put a lot of work into updating the current RIPE Code of Conduct. They put together a series of draft documents that were then reviewed by the community. The most recent version 3.0 can be found here: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/ripe-meetings/ripe-meeting-code-o… During the RIPE 80 community plenary, Hans Petter Holen described what he views as the best way forward to finalize the updated RIPE Code of Conduct and we would like to follow the process he laid out during his presentation. The main idea is to split the current draft document into three individual documents and to review each of them separately: 1. The Code of Conduct 2. The selection of the Trusted Contacts or Code of Conduct team 3. Procedures for the team We are now looking for volunteers to finalize this set of documents. During RIPE 80 three community members already offered their help. If you are still interested, please let us know. This of course also applies to anyone who would like to help and has not yet put their name forward. Second call for presentations RIPE 81

Dear colleagues, the first submission round for RIPE 81 is over and there are still plenary and lightning talk slots open. The RIPE Programme Committee will accept new proposals until *27th September 2020*. Lightning talk submission will be possible at least until a week before the meeting, but due to the condensed schedule in the online format we have less slots available than usually. Please note, that all the submissions we already received and did not explicitly accept or reject are still under consideration for the plenary at RIPE 81. Authors of accepted or rejected presentations have been contacted by the PC via the contact address they provided. You can find the CFP for RIPE 81 at https://ripe81.ripe.net/submit-topic/cfp/, for your proposals for plenary session presentations and lightning talks. We also have the possibility to schedule BoFs, but they will happen outside the general meeting plan due to timing constrains.
