RIPE 53 will be held 2 - 6 October, 2006, at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. You will receive an early bird discount of EUR 50 if your payment is received before 29 September, 2006. You can pay the meeting fee by bank transfer or using our secure online credit card payment system. DAY TICKETS ============= Day tickets are also available and are valid for one day only. The cost is EUR 125. You can register for a day ticket using the link above or at the Registration Desk during the meeting itself. Daniel Karrenberg Elected as Chair of ISOC's Board of Trustees

Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC is pleased to announce that its Chief Scientist, Daniel Karrenberg, has been elected as the new Chair of the Internet Society’s (ISOC’s) Board of Trustees. Daniel was elected during ISOC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held recently in Marrakesh, Morocco. "The Internet Society has much to contribute to the continued success of the Internet," said Daniel. "The diligent work of my predecessors, the Trustees and the staff has put the society in a very sound position. IP Anti-Spoofing Task Force Kicks Off

At the Istanbul meeting (RIPE52), RIPE decided to establish an "IP Anti-Soofing Task Force". For motivation, charter and work-plan see http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-379.html The task force is co-chaird by Nina Hjorth Bargisen (NINA1-RIPE) and Daniel Karrenberg (DK58). The task force web page with information about the mailing list etc is at http://www.ripe.net/ripe/tf/anti-spoofing/ We will give regular reports about progress on the maining list. We are looking for volunteers to contribute to the How-To document and experience reports. We are especially looking for contributions from equipment vendors and network operators here. CISCO has agreed at the RIPE meeting to provide us with material and help with this. Contacts with other vendors are most welcome.
