NRO NC call for nominations

[Apologies for duplicate e-mails] Dear Colleagues, This is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number council (NC). The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in January 2006, ends on 31 December 2008. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NCC beginning 1 January 2009. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 57 Meeting, which will be held in Dubai, UAE, from 26-30 October 2008. The deadline for nominations is 22 September 2008. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. Please send your nominations to <nominations(a)ripe.net> by 23:00 UTC on 22 September 2008. [Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC Database Group has now implemented the White Pages functionality discussed in the Database Working Group session at RIPE 56. For those not familiar with the discussions surrounding White Pages, please refer to the document outlining all the details of the implementation in the RIPE Database Document Library: http://www.ripe.net/db/docs.html This document also explains how to have yourself listed in the White Pages. We plan to re-start a clean-up project to remove unreferenced PERSON objects early in September. This will start to delete objects from the database late in September. Proposed new working group: Collaboration

Dear Colleagues, Here is a proposed charter for the proposed working group named "Collaboration". As you can see, the name of the chair(s) is not mentioned. Of course the names have to be decided when the wg is formally formed. But, to not delay the discussions about this wg, and to not mix up the two issues (charter and chair) I hereby let you all comment on this proposed wg. An action point as decided upon at the Friday plenary. RIPE Taskforce on Enhanced Cooperation

The Taskforce met last Monday, during RIPE 56, and presented a progress update on its work to the RIPE plenary in its closing session on Friday. A decision was also taken in the plenary to create a Working Group to to review these matters on an ongoing basis. A draft charter will be sent to this list shortly. RIPE NCC Executive Board Election Results

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2008 was held Wednesday, 7 May 2008, adjacent to the RIPE 56 Meeting, at the Palace Hotel in Berlin. The meeting agenda included an election to fill two RIPE NCC Executive Board seats for three-year terms. Fahad AlShirawi and Andreas Wittkemper were voted onto the Board, replacing Kees Neggers and Jim Reid. There were 111 attendees excluding RIPE NCC staff and observers from the other Regional Internet Registries. In addition to the Executive Board election, the RIPE NCC members approved three resolutions. The RIPE NCC 2007 Audited Financial Report was approved. Jaap Akkerhuis, Remko van Mook and Olaf Kolkman were appointed to the panel of RIPE NCC arbiters. And the RIPE NCC Executive Board was discharged with regard to its actions as set out in the 2007 Annual Report. The RIPE NCC would like to thank its membership for the input and support given at the General Meeting and congratulates our newly elected Executive Board members.
